A customer wants to pay for a 12-month membership all at once — maybe by card, Swish, or Apple Pay. Instead of sending an invoice, you can generate a payment link in Mana and let them pay directly. It's fast, flexible, and gives you full control over the process.

This guide walks you through how to set up a one-year membership and send the customer a link to pay.

PS - would you rather send an invoice? - You can do that too with our invoice guide.

Step 1: Start in Checkout

  • Go to your Admin Console

  • Click "Checkout" under "Overview"

  • Press "New checkout" (top right corner)

Step 2: Choose the Customer

  • If the membership is for a specific person, choose or create the user

  • For this specific purpose, you must link the customer since the membership will be automatically added to their account with the correct start and end dates

  • If it's not tied to a person, you can skip this

🧠 Tip: If they’re not in your system yet, hit "Create user" to add them.

Step 3: Add the Membership

  • Click "Add item"

  • Under Type , choose Membership

  • Select the specific membership product (in this case, a 1-year membership)

  • Choose the start date and end date (e.g. 2026-01-01 to 2026-12-31)

  • Toggle "Freeze end date" to lock the membership period

Why freeze the end date? You’re selling a full-year membership up front, so the end date should be fixed.

Step 4: Set the Price

  • Calculate the full amount (e.g. 899 kr/month x 12 = 10 788 kr)

  • Double-check everything, then click Add to confirm

💡 Bonus tip: Want to sell more than just a membership? Add other items now the same way.

Step 5: Choose Payment Link

  • Under Payment method , select Payment Link QR

  • Click Create Payment

Mana will now generate a link and a QR code.

Step 6: Send the Link or Use the QR Code

  • Copy the link and send it to the customer (email, text, DM — whatever works)

  • Or show the QR code in person so they can scan and pay on the spot

They can pay by card, Swish, or any of the options your studio has activated.

It will look something like this, prompting apple pay, swish etc:

Step 7: Track the Payment

  • Head back to the Checkout page

  • You’ll see a list of all your checkouts, including payment links

  • From here, you can see if a link is active , paid , or expired

Once the customer pays, the payment and membership will automatically be registered in Mana. 🙌

If you ever need to find the link or QR code again — or just want to see what each payment link is selling — click the link’s “ID” to get an overview.

Final Notes

This is a great option if you want a quick and secure way to get paid without sending invoices or doing manual follow-up.

Just remember:

  • Only share the link with the customer who should pay it

  • If a link expires, you can always create a new one
